Hello. I'm a newbie with a recently purchased '65 Barracuda with a 273. The temperature gauge reads very high. Local rad shop flushed the system & replaced the thermostat (at my request as the car had been used very seldom in the last 6 years). They also ordered new sensor from 2 suppliers but, both are the same as what was in the car. The rad shop tells me that this sensor is for more modern cars with a/c & electric fans. Would appreciate some direction to a supplier of a proper sensor. Thanks.

You might try these folks - good online catalog.

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

or maybe a local NAPA store. You might have to ask them to look at the old parts books, and not just the computer
