Should we break "Technical Discussions" down into other categories like:

Exhaust
Engine and drivetrain
Interior and Trim
Body and sheetmetal

Stuff like that?

I think it would be helpful to have more categories. It would be easier to research answers to specific questions. I like the dark blue borders separating the individual responses.

Thanks Don. I frequent www.forabodiesonly.com and they have multiple topics, but I find they have TOO MANY actually. I worry that early A-bodies aren't popular enough to warrant a website at all, let alone a bunch of categories...know I mean?

I just keep thinking to myself "If you build it, they will come". :-)

I think more categories, will make the site easier to move around and do searches.
I too like the dark borders. Every little change makes things better.

I agree with you Neil, I'm not sure this site is popular enough to have even more categories. Honestly there usually isn't enough traffic to get me to consistently make sure I pop-in everyday. On the other hand, I usually make my way to ForABodiesOnly every day.

I do however really like the aspect of archiving technical information that has been built into the site.

I know there's no traffic, but I'm hopeful...or do I really mean nuts? Are my efforst to improve in vain, or will they be the bait that brings more people in? I hate to say bait, but I couldn't think of any other word.

ps: from now on I'm not going to post with the admin account any more

I think its fine as is. Just needs more traffic. I added a link to Mopar.org
You might email the guys at Mopar Collectors Guide about spreading the word as well.

Good tips guys. I'm torn about the topics issue. Maybe if I just split it up a bit like General Discussions and Engines/Drivetrain or something like that? I don't know...it's a tough call.

This is not the first discussion board I've admin'd. The other one got so many posts a day (like hundreds) that new topics were mandatory to keep sane...it was an easy decision...but not so much around here.

The thing is, if there were more topics it might generate more traffic.
But Neil I'll say one thing, I sure like the changes you have done!!

So we're split 50/50 on whether to have more topics or not. I need to do a little more research before I jump into this....

Okay, I've made an executive decision to move things around a bit. I think this is much better now.

Should the need arise (due to inexplicable increases in traffic, caused by Forabodiesonly.com or Moparts.com going out of business) I can put multiple sub-categories under General Discussions, like this:

General Discussions
Body/Interior/Trim
Exhaust
Heating/Cooling
etc.etc...

Knowledge Base
Part Numbers
blah blah....

Do we need more topic categories?
I don't think so.
I can locate the items I need or are of interest and I think more would just be too busy.
I think it works good... so don't fix it.

I do appreciate your efforts and have used the info here extensively, especially the Formula S info.
