I'm looking for the kick down linkage (three piece) for a 66 dart. Was a 273 car, now 318 with 360 heads. 600 AVS carb. I think this is the correct one Also looking for the small plate that the throttle cable passes through. Thanks. Jim |

The evil geniuses at Mopar back then did what I consider a marvelous job of connecting the carb to the transmission for so many makes and models, BUT!!! Over the years, lots of very similar looking kickdown parts have gotten mixed and matched. Some combinations will work, some can be modified by bending, welding, etc and some just remain a mystery (at least to me). The best approach (only approach if ya want originality) is to find the correct factory part. using a parts book as you have. Then it's a matter of whether anyone has the exact part or one that can be modified and can you locate the person. I found mine by asking over on For A Bodies Only, and got really lucky! I suggest you try there, and MOPARTS and perhaps the transmission specialists like Cope Racing. Be persistent and patient and you might get lucky. Then there's the cable operated kickdown solutions. Lokar has the prettiest ones, but their instructions suck pond scum. Personally, I like this solution: http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/trans_kickdown_cables Bouchillon also has throttle cables and an incredible list of parts to upgrade our old MOPARs. Good luck, and let us know what you do and how it works for ya! BC |
