Just joined and the question I have deals with 1966 Dodge Dart center links. On 66s was the v8 center link used on all units regardless whether they were v8 or /6? |

I can say this is not true, at least in the case of my '66 Dart /6 parts car. It has the shallow drop center link. |

'66 was a change-over year, so I think they probably used the shallow-drop ones 'til they ran out, then used the V8/deep drop ones exclusively after that. |

Mine has a plus 2" offset in it. Is that a v8 center link? Putting a 78 dodge v8 in it. I am also looking for L/R engine support brackets 64-66. It is easy to find mounts but not brackets. Schumacher is over to $150. |

I bought a front end out of a 69 340 dodge dart before I found out I couldn't use k-member or center link off of it on my 66. They are to wide. Guess I will have to find someone who needs a 69 a-body v8 front end. |

'67-up front end parts won't fit '66-back as Mopar widened the engine bay and entire front suspension in '67 so they could install the 383, and later 440, engines. I think a 2" drop is a V8 one.Don't quote me...it's been a while since I had my '65, and it came with one. Also, make sure you have a CAR oil pan and pickup as one from a truck/van/motorhome won't work.} |

...then why do some slant cars have a shallow drop bar and some have a deep drop bar? |

If anyone has an extra set of V8 engine support brackets that will help me get this 78 318 in my 66 dodge dart, please let me know. Thanks |

Here is a pic of the 2 center links beside each other for comparison. I know somebody sells the V8 center link but can't remember who!

Is the offset measured from top to top? |

Jim I'm going to say yes, mine measures 2 1/8 if I put a straight edge on the top and measure to the top of the drop. For new 63 - 66 V8 center links are available from Firm Feel. http://www.firmfeel.com/a_body_mopar_centerlink_V8_plymouth_dodge.html |
