Have picked up early barracuda 1964. Heard only 1st thousand had Valiant emblem on tail panel is this true. Can decipher most off fender tag except second line. Located under letter A is 3;under F a 1; under H a 5 ;under M a 3; under T a8. also paint code is AAA. should be early as so date is 5/19 any info would be helpful. Trying to decide to paint original gold or bahama yellow thanks for help.

I believe all 64 Barracuda's had the valiant emblem on them. Have a pic of it?

that is what I was told. Very confusing I have looked at several cars with 64 registrations with 65 vin. numbers with autos on floor my understanding all 64 autos were pushbuttons.

I had a fairly late build 1964 Barracuda that still had the Valiant emblem on it (don't remember exact build but somewhere I did keep the VIN) although it was a Canadian built car. So good to know fstfish.

I also believe the 64 cars had 3 sp or 4 sp manual or push button auto with cable shift. I don't think any other auto shift was available.

Part of my question does anyone know when they switched to 65 vin no.s must have been early in 64 if states registered cars as 1964's.
