john no problem any time,,, feel free to e mail me any time if i can help ide be glad too

not much activity on this board any more,,there is a lot of barracuda guys on forAbodiesonly.com

i wouldnt suggest rebuilding that rear,,unless you have to have it orignal,,,parts are available but hard to locate,,,you can use any A body rear end,,,after 1972 the wheel pattern changes so your factory rims wont fit a 1973 or later rear,,,but if u plan on upgrading the car,,modern rims etc there are more options on the bigger wheel bolt patttern,,,

So I can use the Diff out any A body, that is good to know, I live not to far from a MOPAR grave yard, what about the front end brakes? the yard has a lot of chargers in it can i use a master cly and H block, im putting the power steering back in my car I found all the parts at the yard, So I don't wont to mess with the front end to much.So How do I date my 318? that would help when getting parts, I was going to try bring it back to stock but not any more.
this is my parts car

A 66 belvedrere is not an A body. Most parts will not work off of the belvedrere.I think the T bars just need adjustment.Try to get as much off of the barracuda parts car as you can.

yes all A bodies rears will interchange,,,but the bolt pattern changes to the big pattern in 1973, A bodies are 1963 to 69 dart, valiant, barracuda, duster scamp, demon. barracudas from 1970 to 74 are not A body, also the rear will fit from a volare or aspen,,,and i read some place a dakota truck rear fits,,but i dont know for sure. would be great to find a 1973 or newer A body and get the disc brake set up, did you find the date on your 318 ?

YES, it is a 1968 the date was on the other side it is a 318- LA. I don't know what the LA is all about yet. casting # 5-6 1968 casting 5. so that is good to know. so its color will be 68 MOPAR blue. now I have to find
or by a new 4bbl Holy carb and a manifold and new chrome air cleaner and such, I will not use the 273 stuff I will find disk brakes spindles in the yard we have some dusters and a dart or two from the 70s the grave yard is the best it;s not all picked over and not open to every Tom Dick and Harry. I had to talk my way in but it fun. my son cant Waite to go strip the 66 we found well i will post more as I go,i will use the form i don't like using face book for every thing.
