Just thought I would pass this on here. Received on another forum. Mike Don't pump gas on May 15th. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't pump gas on May 15th. In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon overnight. On May 15th 2007, all Americans are asked to not go to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now almost $3.00 a gallon in most places. There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the Internet and the average car takes about 20 to 30 dollars to fill up. If all American s did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,200,000,000.00 (that's BILLION) out of the oil company's pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil industry for at least one day. If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this titled 'Don't pump gas on May 15th' |

| Ya, the prices here in Ottawa are really bad too. Why make $1 billion a year when you can make $2 billion? Or $3 billion? I guess they have us by the balls eh? Slant sixes are becoming popular, I've seen a few for sale....a couple of years ago I saw them for free. |

273 gets better milage than a 225 Neil. Anyways, the boycott is worthless. All the oil companies share product and a one day boycott has everyone buying gas the day before or the day after. |

| What is the mileage on a 273. I seem to remember it was better than the 225 also. I heard varying reports in the low 20s if I recall. My 225 will get me 18 average if I don't honk it everywhere. |

| I have heard 23 to as high as 28 in a B-body. I read about a guy with a 318 getting 18 until he swapped in a motorcraft 2bbl carb and started 24. |

The boycott is an interesting idea but i can't see how delaying buying gas for one day will have a significant impact... shouldn't we be NOT CONSUMING gas to make an impact? Sean 7 MPG... and worth it. |

| Thats true. Most people that I'm talking with feel that boycotting one particular company (Exxon/Mobil), all the time will force them to lower their prices, causing an overall cheaper price. I'm going along with both plans, but I'm skeptical of any results, mostly because of the general publics apathy and unwillingness to do anything, combined with the enormous size and power of the oil companies. You'll never know until you try. |
